“Jenna Lash, a neo-pointillist visual artist, is best known for her oil and acrylic paintings that explore the digital, domestic, and international worlds of currency. While Lash is Manhattan-based, her collectors span the country and the globe: Switzerland, Scotland, Beverly Hills, New Canaan, and New York.

Lash was a recent guest on Ginger NewYork TV, and her most recent show, in conjunction with the Bitcoin Center NYC, was featured in the Urban Gardner column in the Wall Street Journal.  She has appeared on NPR as part of the Whitney Biennial (Three Artists Talk), and her shows have been featured in, among others, Bloomberg.com, The New York Times, and The New York Post.

Closing Show at Bitcoin Center NYC

This past Thursday, Lash said her final farewell to the Bitcoin Center NYC, where she had a closing show and dialogue with Joseph Fiscella, the core developer of Florincoin and self-described blockchain engineer.  “Joe and I had a great discussion about the potential of Bitcoins to help artists and patrons alike,” said Lash.  Watch out world: the Jenna and Joe TED talk may be next!

Art and Bitcoin: who knew? But within the Bitcoin community is an artist who hopes to see these two worlds come together. Her name is Jenna Lash and her work has begun to bridge two communities into a dialogue. Music by Yessian Music.  Produced by Calvin Tran for CryptoCoinNews.

A Conversation with Ralph Gardner, Jr. of the Wall Street Journal

Mr. Gardner, of the Urban Gardener column of fame from the Wall Street Journal, met up with Jenna Lash recently to discuss her foray into the newest national and international currency obsession: Bitcoins.  Of course, to that end, he came to the NYC Bitcoin Center (where Lash’s work is on view until September) and they chatted about the past, present, and possible future of currency.  While perhaps he isn't ready to to invest in Bitcoins yet, nonetheless he still retains a fondness for traditional physical currency.  Click here to see the article.

Speaking to the Sisterhood…

On June 9, 2014, Lash headed down east to Roslyn, LI, where she spoke for about 45 minutes to the Temple Beth Sholom Sisterhood. “They were so engaged and interested in the topic that I couldn't stop talking!” said Lash. They continued the talk as she gave her “art walk” tour around the currency paintings she had hanging up in various parts of the temple.

Bitcoin Center NYC Launch Party: Success!

Last week, with great fanfare, the Bitcoin Center NYC launched the opening of an ongoing partnership—i.e., Jenna Lash’s exhibit featuring current and new neo-pointillist currency works, setting the background to the Center’s weekly bitcoin trading sessions!

Centrally featured, of course, was Lash’s newest work featuring the Bitcoin.

Who knows what the future of this currency is, but for now, it is alive and well at the Bitcoin Center.

The exhibit will be open to the public (as will the trading!) until September 2014. The Center is open 7 days a week, from 10 am to 6 pm. Trading floors hours are Mondays and Thursdays, from 6 to 9 pm.

Not only was the show itself very exciting for me, but a mention of Lash’s show was made in:

the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times,  as well as

the Coin Telegraph, NewsBTC (Bitcoin News Service), and ForexMinute!

At the Bitcoin Center NYC’s launch party for her currency-themed work, Lash got to ring the opening bell for bitcoin trading!

Reuters Interview at the “Inside Bitcoins” Conference at Jacob Javits Center

Back in April 2014, Jenna Lash attended the Inside Bitcoins conference held at the Jacob Javits Center. “There were a ton of people there, and I wandered around the conference a bit. While I was there, Reuters happened to interview me about my own perspective!” said Lash.
